Without further ado, if you intend to apply this version, click the download button and install the package. When done, don't forget to perform a system restart and reconnect the network adapter to make sure that all changes take effect properly. To install this release, simply get the package, extract it if necessary, run the setup, and follow the instructions displayed on-screen.
Updating the adapter's drivers and utilities version might improve overall performance and stability, increase transfer speeds, fix different compatibility problems and several network-related errors, as well as bring various other changes. This task also allows computers to properly recognize all device characteristics such as manufacturer, chipset, technology, and others. However, proper software must be applied if you want to make use of all features that the network adapter has available.
When connected, the operating system usually installs a generic driver that helps the computer to recognize the newly attached device. Close the wizard and perform a system reboot to allow changes to take effect. Read EULA (End User License Agreement) and agree to proceed with the installation process. Allow Windows to run the file (if necessary). Locate and double-click on the available setup file. Unzip the file and enter the newly-created directory. Save the downloadable package on an accessible location (such as your desktop). To install this package please do the following: Print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights. Take into consideration that is not recommended to install the driver on Operating Systems other than stated ones.
If the driver is already installed on your system, updating (overwrite-installing) may fix various issues, add new functions, or just upgrade to the available version. If someone has a solution for this issue I would be really interested. The package provides the installation files for Realtek Wireless 802.11b/g/n USB 2.0 Network Adapter Driver version 1030.13.704.2016. I'm very close to sending it and it's other three bretheren back to Amazon because if this one is going to crap out then it's only a matter of time for the other three. I know that this tablet only cost $100 on Amazon but without network connectivity it's just an expensive paperweight. I've looked for updated drivers or some other magical fix also to no avail. I've turned off Bluetooth and reset this machine half a dozen times but all to no avail. if that were the case how come it can't see the other access point or the Starbuck on the other side of the road or any other WiFi network.
Running the HP support assistant network Check Diagnostics tells me that 'This computer is suffering a network connectivity problem (999)' it then suggests that old chestnut 'Reset your Broadband modem and router'. Running the Windows Troubleshooter it tells me it couldn't identify the problem (but there is a problem).
When I check the driver status in the Device Manager is tells me that the driver is working fine and there are no problems. My phone, my laptop, and all our other devices can see the access points but the Stream 7 reports 'No connections are available' on the Windows Start screen. We have both a Cisco router upstairs and the Comcast Router downstairs. The tablet will not connect to any available WiFi Routers. Yet another Wifi problem post on the HP Stream 7.
